Each winter, a handful of ingredients arrive that remind us why we love cooking seasonally. Truffles are one of them.

 

Join us on Friday 3 July and Friday 31st July for a five-course dinner celebrating fresh local truffles, sourced from passionate Hawke's Bay growers and showcased throughout a specially curated menu from Simon and Max.

 

The menu is designed to let this remarkable ingredient shine without overcomplicating it. From the first course through to dessert, truffle will feature in different ways across the dishes, highlighting both its depth and versatility.

 

For those wanting the full experience, Maija Gibson has put together an optional wine match featuring wines selected to complement each course and enhance the flavours of the menu.

A series of one-off dinners that take us somewhere else for the night. Different cuisines, different stories, all done the Ari way: thoughtful, generous and full of flavour, shared around the table.

Second Sunday of each winter month

There's something special about a proper Sunday roast in winter.

 

This winter, we're inviting you to join us for Ari's Sunday Roast Club - a series of long Sunday lunches built around generous seasonal roasts, shared tables, good wine and comforting food.

 

Held on the second Sunday of each month from June through September, each lunch features a three-course menu for $55 per person, with a different roast taking centre stage each month.

 

Whether you're gathering family, catching up with friends or simply looking for an excuse to get out of the house on a cold winter's day, Sunday Roast Club is all about slowing down and enjoying the afternoon.

 

Sunday 14 June – Roast Beef

  • Prawn toast, bisque mayonnaise, spring onion relish

  • Roast beef scotch, smoked beetroot purée, roasted beetroot, caramelised onion and goat's cheese dauphinoise

  • Apple tarte fine, cinnamon sugar, vanilla ice cream

 

Sunday 12 July – Roast Lamb

  • Smoked fish and celeriac velouté, fried bread

  • Roasted lamb rump, lamb hot pot pie, wilted garlic brassicas

  • Chocolate cremosa, roasted pears, Chantilly cream

 

Sunday 9 August – Roast Pork

  • Mushroom risotto, truffle miso butter, pangrattato

  • Pork belly, sage butter gnocchi, Granny Smith apple, chestnut purée

  • Cheesecake and citrus

 

Sunday 13 September – Roast Chicken

  • Blood orange and gin cured fish, fennel, lilput and sesame dressing

  • Roasted chicken, confit garlic mashed potatoes, loaded iceberg salad

  • Mandarin Eton Mess, yoghurt, sherry

Every Thursday night, we invite you to bring along a bottle of something special and enjoy it with dinner at Ari.

Whether it's a treasured cellar bottle you've been saving for the right occasion, a favourite wine discovered on a recent Hawke's Bay cellar door visit, or simply something you love sharing with friends, BYO Thursday is your excuse to pull the cork.

Our menu is designed to pair beautifully with great wine, and we love seeing what our guests have tucked away in their collections. 

Show us what's in your cellar! We've opened everything from treasured back vintages to bottles picked up that very afternoon. Every wine has a story, and we're always keen to hear it.
